Differentiation of ELL
The implementation of the lessons will take into account of the English Language Learners by keeping them with the same standards as the rest of the class. These students will be expected to preform to the same level. Teachers will pay close attention to ensure that the students aren't going to get overwhelmed with the content material. The ELL students will be placed in groups that are heterogeneous to ensure they can get the extra help needed in completion of the activities. Furthermore, these students and the rest of the ELL students will be able to have different elements of learning as the lesson is greatly diversified. Lessons include: group work, analyzing photographs, written work, reading, analyzing short video clips, and drawing. Thus students will get to receive information in a variety of ways to get deeper understanding. It is imperative that we provide our ELL students with the tools they need in order to succeed in the classroom.
Also, teachers will be more than happy to work with English Language Learners either before or after class and will remain positive when working with ELL students. Teachers will hold them to high standards, but will make sure that they are being equitable by showing patients when necessary. ELL students will have the same opportunities to succeed as the rest of the students enrolled in the courses.
